Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Happy birthday to my dear sweet Morgan. I just had to share some of my favorite pictures of her over the past 2 years. I wish I could have posted more, because there are so many cute ones, but then this would be like a four page post, and everyone would be bored, so I restrained myself, and only posted these ones:

Cerise's and Morgan on their first meeting:

Morgan at about a week old:

Halloween (1 month old):

Cerise's favorite thing to do with Morgan for the first few months was to stack her babies and animals all around her. I think she was sharing, but it got funny sometimes. Can you tell which one is the real baby?

The next two are from a vacation to the Oregon Coast, just before Morgan turned one:

Still one of my favorite pictures of her. This was the day before her surgery with her NG tube in her nose. We (myself and 4 nurses) had been pinning her down for the past 2 1/2 hours trying to get an IV (which they never got in) and still she is smiling and happy (although she was NOT happy during the whole thing). What a strong little girl:

And, finally, a couple of pictures from our trip a couple weeks ago. These ones capture her personality so well. I love them.

Utah Trip Part 2: Hogle Zoo

On Tuesday we went to the Zoo. This happens to be the zoo I grew up with, so it was fun to see what had changed and what was the same. The girls had tons of fun.

Utah Trip Part 1: Temple Square

We spent one whole day at Temple Square. It was fun. I hadn't been there in years, and it had been even longer for Scott, so it was fun to go see all the church stuff that we hadn't seen in forever, and to show the girls. I also tried to get some cute pictures of the girls while we were there, since I don't want to have to pay to get 2-year pics taken of Morgan. I think we got some good ones. (The slide show goes kind of fast, so if you want to see the picture for longer or see the captions, just hold your mouse over the picture and it will pause for you).

A new addition to our family.

Most of you know that we recently went on vacation to Utah. What none of you knew was that part of our reason for going down was so that we could meet the newest addition to our family.

Introducing: Preston Gray

AS you can see the girls were VERY excited to meet him and hold him. He is 6 weeks old and SO cute with his red hair and blue eyes. What a cutie.

That's right, Preston Gray Carlson is the newest member of the Britton/Sharp side of the family. He is the adorable 3rd son of my cousin Cally and her husband John. Isn't he cute? The girls were disappointed that we didn't get to bring him home with us (and no we never will bring him home, just in case you didn't get the joke).

A Mighty Change of Heart

So, a few months ago, I told you all about Cerise's dream to become a doctor. Well, it appears that she has had a change of heart. The following is a conversation between us from a few days ago:

Cerise: I don't think I want to be a doctor anymore.
Mom: Oh? Why not?
Cerise: Just because. I want to do what you do.
Mom: Teach Marching Band?
Cerise: NO!!! I want to stay home all day, except on Sundays.
Mom: Oh. What would you do on Sunday?
Cerise: Go for walks and go to church.
Mom: So, you want to be a Mom?
Cerise: Yep. I want to spend ALL day at home with my kids. And Elijah can go to work instead.
Mom: Well, that sounds like a good choice too. But, you'll still go to college right?
Cerise: Of Course.

(Elijah is the boy who she has recently decided that she is going to marry. She talks about it ALL THE TIME, including what their kids will be named!!!)

Oh, the fickle minds of girls. If this is what she is like when she's four, I dread the teenage years!

MIA

I haven't posted this past week because we are on vacation. We packed up the family and headed to Utah. No, we don't have family there, we just went to visit the sights. Here is a preview of some of the amazing adorable pictures to come next week.

Goodbye, We'll miss you!

So, the past three summers we have spent babysitting three little girls. This summer was no exception, we just did it at their house this year, since it would have been chaos to do it in our tiny apartment.
Cerise and Morgan both LOVE playing with Julia, Jacquee, and Olivia. Here is a picture I got of the girls all together on our last official day with them for this year:

Scott always tells me this is a picture of my future!

Pre-K

So today was sort of the first day of PreSchool for Cerise (it was orientation, technically they don't start until Wednesday, but it was first day enough to warrant pictures). She has been SOOOOO excited!!! She had her outfit picked out several days ago (along with the outfit for the REAL first day). She got to go to Mrs. Egbert's house and see what it was all about. Here are some pictures from the morning:

Cerise getting ready to go. (Notice the excited twinkle in her eye):

Eating Utensils

You Are a Fork

You are truthful, direct, and straight forward.

People find your honesty to be a bit piercing at times.

You are driven and wildly ambitious.

You know what you want, and you take the most direct path to getting it.

tHair She Goes! Part 2

So, here is the Morgan Version. As I was looking through pics of her hair. I realized that most are just a variation on two half piggies. But that is what keeps her hair out of her eyes the best, and it is the easiest. I will have to try to be more creative in the future.

I don't know why this one is sideways, but it is a basic two piggy with clippies:

This is what Cerise calls a "floopy" ponytail:

Two Floopies:

I did this one for a swimming day and it stayed in great. Just don't look too close as the front piggies are NOT centered, Grrr:

I was surprised at how long this one made her hair look (this pic was after a whole day of playing, so it is a bit messy):

Two whole Piggies:

Now for my favorites, this one was the twin "do" to Cerise's 4th of July Sparkles:

And the one I've gotten the most compliments on, a headband of piggies:
