Paintings by My Mom (warning: LOTS of pics)

Following are some of the paintings that Mom has done in the past few months. Yes there are several pictures of some in different frames, this is so that my brother and sister can look at them and pick which picture and frame they like best. Enjoy.

The Dress-Up Party

Here are some pictures from the Dress-up birthday party that we went to on Saturday. The girls had a lot of fun, as you can see.

Moved in

Well, we are officially out of the house, although there have been some delays in the signing, so we won't sign papers until next week...ugh. However, we are moved into our apartment (although not everything is put away yet). The girls are adjusting well. Cerise still gets sad once in a while and says she misses the house. Morgan moved into a toddler bed with the move, so that has been fun. Keyni obviously misses the back yard and hates that he has to go in his kennel when we leave, but he is adjusting too. He is very intrigued by all the cats around here, as are the girls. Today we are off to a "dress up" birthday party. Cerise is very excited. I will post pics from the party later.

Moving and Shaking

So, I was laying in bed wide awake and decided that I should just get up and update everyone on the happenings at the O'Connor household.

I have had many questions lately about where we are moving and why we have sold our house, so here is a quick recap. Mom is getting ready to go on a mission (hoping to leave near the beginning of October). However, she had had her eye on this one particular housing development that has town-houses in it almost from her first trip up here. Well, one day she decided to go look at the model home. She was informed that they would all be completed by this fall, so if she wanted to have one built, she needed to do it now. She called me one Saturday and said, "do I build now or wait until after my mission?" And I felt prompted to suggest that we could sell our house and move into hers to rent/house-sit while she was on her mission. Scott and I had talked about selling the house next summer anyway, since we really feel that we could only fit one more child in this house, and we hope to have that happen fairly soon. Then we would need a slightly bigger house.

So, mom signed papers to get her house built (it should be finished in August). We put our house on the market figuring it would take a while to sell, but it sold on the second day. We had an original closing date of June 20th which was great, because it gave us 6 weeks to get everything ready. However, our realtor called this past Monday and asked if we could bump the closing date up to May 23rd. After much scrambling we decided that we could. So this week has been filled with phone calls trying to find an apartment that would allow us to move in next weekend, have a short-term lease, and take our dog with us. Finally I found one that is actually closer to work for Scott as well as being closer to gymnastics and stuff for us. So, on Saturday we will be moving into a 2 bedroom apartment until September at which time we will move into mom's new house while she goes on her mission for a year and a half.

This has meant a pretty big life change for us; selling a house and moving always is, even when we are only moving across town for now. We will still be in the same stake and so we are going to keep going to our ward through the summer so that Cerise doesn't have to switch classes and teachers and friends twice. We feel like this will be best for all of us.

Wow, that was a lot of rambling, and not such a "quick" recap, but now, hopefully, you will all understand why and where we are going for the next few months. It will be a change and a challenge, but we are excited to be moving forward towards some future goals and the possibility of building a house that we will not grow out of.
