2 Months

Tyson is two months old. When did that happen?!?! He had his check-up today. He had to get 3 shots (ouch!). He isn't gaining weight as quickly as was expected, but he is still doing alright. The Dr. determined that he is tongue-tied, which is why he is still having a hard time eating. We got a referral to get it clipped, so hopefully that appointment can happen soon. Anyway, here are his 2 month stats:

Height: 25 inches (96th percentile)
Weight: 12.0 pounds (48th percentile)
Head: 39.5 cm (30th percentile)

These are opposite of his percentiles at birth (he was 90th for weight and 50th for height), but the doctor doesn't seem concerned at this point.

As Promised

I finally updated things today, so keep scrolling down to see LOTS of pictures of our adventures from this summer.

Swim Lessons!

WARNING: This post contains a LOT of pictures!

The girls started swim lessons this past week. I was amazed at the progress they made in just one week.
Cerise and Morgan on the 1st day. It was COLD! Floating with assistance:

Morgan floating (notice the death grip!)

Morgan frozen after class:

The last day. MUCH warmer!

Jumping in!

Diving for pennies off the BOTTOM!
"Monkey Walking"
Floating UNassisted:
Floating with very little assistance:
Swimming:
"Superman Swimming"
I am SO proud of how brave they both were and how well they listened and how quickly they learned. They can't wait until Makenzie gets back from vacation so they can go for another couple of weeks before summer ends!

Fun in the New Ward

Our new ward (our church's term for congregation) has been a lot of fun. We started a playgroup and that has really helped the girls and I get to know a few people. Here are some pictures from playgroup as well as a BBQ where some people were giving rides on their boats.

Morgan on "the tallest slide they ever made!"
Cerise filling the sand buckets to make a sandcastle.

Ready for a ride! Cerise thought this was the greatest thing ever and asked all the way home, "When can we buy a boat?"

Morgan wasn't so convinced, but in the end, she thought it was pretty darn cool!

Car Wash

Scott decided to wash the truck the other day and enlisted the help of the kids.

I love the way her reflection looks in this one:

And, of course, Tyson didn't want to be left out, so he joined too:

Happy Birthday America!

We celebrated the 4th by going to a nearby town, where I played in a little "band" (I use that term very loosely!) for the town's Centennial Celebration. After that we came home, put the kids down for naps, and Scott and I went shopping (don't worry, Grandma stayed with the kids!). Then we roasted hot dogs in Grandma's fire pit thingy. FINALLY it was dark enough to light fireworks! We didn't go to the local lighting of the big fireworks, but I think the girls enjoyed the show we had at home.
Morgan was NOT impressed with the loud sounds from all the fireworks and just wanted to go inside and color, but Scott convinced her to stay outside while wearing his noise cancelling headphones to drown out the loud sounds. It only worked marginally, but she did stay outside.

A cool shot I got of "Ghost-Daddy" when I turned the flash off.

The reason Scott and I went shopping:

The girls LOVING our new ride!

Tyson's Tales

A few pictures cataloging Tyson's adventures:
Sleeping in his crib (it happens VERY rarely, and only for about 20 minutes at a time. We're working on it). Test Driving his Bumbo. He wasn't too sure about it this first time.
A little better today:
Smiles for Morgan. It is so fun to see him smiling and interacting and the girls LOVE it when he smiles at them!!!
Napping on the kitchen floor!?!?

Coming Soon to a Blog Near You

We have been very busy these past couple of weeks. Swim lessons, Boating, and General Everyday Fun have filled our days. I am too exhausted to post about them tonight, but watch for several posts over the course of the next few days. Hopefully by posting this, I'll actually be motivated to do it!
