Silly Girls!!!

So, I just went in to help the girls get out of the bathtub, and discovered them both standing there looking intently into the toilet, and just as I walked in, Cerise says, "Wow, Morgan, Look at that poop!!!"

Oh, that statement soooo defines my life. If you don't know why, don't worry, I am not some psycho who obsesses about poop. I'm just a normal mom of an IA kid, who obsesses about poop.

On another note, Morgan makes me laugh every day with her ability to take an entire sentence that I say, and boil it down to two words, which she says in question form. Our conversation often goes as follows:

Mom: Come on Morgan, it is time to change your diaper.
Morgan: Chane Iper?
Mom: Yes, change your diaper, it stinks and we don't want your bottom to get owie.
Morgan: Stink? Bottom...Owie?

Or like this:

Mom: Time to put your shoes on Morgan so we can go to the park.
Morgan: Shoes? Pawk?

Or, Scott just said:

Dad: Okay, hurry and finish your snack.
Morgan: Sak?
Dad: yep, finish your snack so we can brush your teeth.
Morgan: Sak. Teeth.

You get the point. It makes me laugh. She rarely says more than two words at a time, but can ALWAYS take anything I say and restate it using only those two words. I should probably take lessons from her.

I found this on someone else's blog and decided I was curious. According to some random website, if you read (and understand) my blog, you are reading at a college level.

Doctors

So, the girls have had coughs for about three weeks, and last night Cerise was up crying all night that her ear hurt, so this morning I finally called the pediatrician and took them in. So, both of them have pretty bad bronchitis and ear infections. They both had to have breathing treatments while we were there. One thing though: this was the FIRST time Morgan has not SCREAMED when we entered the Dr's office. She just happily sat there and let them do whatever they needed to do. Dr. Raekes was shocked. She asked what kind of doctor desensitization therapy we've had her in. It was SOOO different than any other appointment we've ever had.

Another cute thing was that yesterday, Cerise was very upset that I didn't take her with me to my appointment. A little background: ever since Morgan was born and had to see doctors all the time, Cerise has been saying that she wants to be a doctor when she grows up. So, when I told her that my appointment would just be boring anyway she replied with, "But MO-OM, If I'm going to be a doctor when I grow up, I need to learn how to do it, and how am I ever going to learn if I never get to see how it's done?" I thought that was amazingly brilliant reasoning, and I may just end up taking her with me to my next appointment.

She even told me last night that when she grows up, she will be a doctor during the day and a Mommy at dinner time, and that her husband will get to stay at home with her kids. Sounds like she has it all figured out. We shall see.

Upgraded

This is my upgraded splint. I had my appointment with te Ortho doc today. He still can't see a fracture, but still suspects one. I have to wear this new brace for 3 weeks and then go back for more xrays. At that point, if it is really broken, then they will be able to see it, and I will either get a cast, or hopefully continue to wear this one for another 9 weeks. Anyway, this brace is a ton easier to do stuff in and is a lot more comfy, plus I can take it off to shower, which is a definite plus. That is all the excitement for today. I'll post about the rest of our week later, as it's been an eventful one.

Broken

So, I have most likely broken my thumb/wrist in the same place I've broken it twice before. Today, the girls and I went to babysit the 3 little girls that we watch. We decided to take Keyni with us and today, he managed to wiggle out of his harness and get away. While I was chasing him, I fell and landed on my thumb. I ended up going to the ER for x-rays. They strongly suspect a fracture. They weren't actually able to see the fracture (which is exactly what happened both times before) because it is one of the tiny bones inside the thumb joint. However, if they don't treat it, and it ends up being broken, then it will cause big problems later. So, they put a big fat splint on it:

and I have an appointment with the Orthopedic doc tomorrow and we'll see where we go from there. If it does in fact turn out to be broken, I would have to wear a cast for 12 weeks. There goes swimming this summer :( I'll update tomorrow.

Seattle

So as most of you know, Scott and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary with an overnight trip to Seattle. We had a really great time and it was definitely nice to go on a weekend trip by ourselves (something we've NEVER done before). Here are some of the highlights:
