tHair She Goes!

So thanksto the ladies at She Does Hair, Piper's Hairdos, Babes in Hairland, and Rockin' Shorty Hairstyles, I have been trying to get creative with the girls' hair. This post is all hairlstyles that I have done on Cerise. I will post Part 2 another day with styles I've done on Morgan. Enjoy the many styles of Cerise:



This one is actually one Cerise came up with for a Princess Birthday party:

I always do two low braids or pigtails for Gymnastics, but Cerise wanted something different one day, so this is what we came up with:


And last, but certainly not least. My all-time favorite so far. This one I did just this week for another Princess Birthday party. I was pretty proud of this one. We even had people stopping us in Wal-mart asking how I had done it:

Mommy's Little Helpers

The other day, after lunch, I noticed that the girls were being very quiet (a tactic they use often just before naptime) so I went to check on them. I found their bedroom door closed (always a bad sign). I walked in and found this:


"Wow," I thought. "They were in here cleaning up. What amazing children I have."

Then Cerise looked up at me and said, "I know, Mom, we'll clean it up, don't worry."

So I turned around and found this:


This, the day after I walked in and found EVERY SINGLE book unloaded off the bookshelf and piled all around the room. Alas, it was a long week last week.

One time, at band camp...

Some of you may know that I am the marching coach for a local high school marching band. I also write the drill that they perform on the field. It is something that I have ALWAYS been passionate about and it is a good outlet for that passion. It also allows me to use my degree without taking very much time away from my family.

Last year was the first year that they actually put a show on the field. They only played 1 song and only moved 8 sets. This year we are stepping it up a bit. They are doing a full show with 4 songs (an opener with drum break, a sit and spit, and a closer) and around 20-25 sets. Still not hard core by any means, but a vast improvement form years previous. Last week was band camp. This is the first year that this band has had band camp and it was SO fun. Can I just tell you that I am SO impressed with the kids who were there. They looked awesome. We practiced marching fundamentals every morning for a couple hours, and by the end of the week, they looked like they had been marching for several years. I am really excited for this marching season.

I know most of you don't give two cents about this, but I was excited and wanted to share. I will keep you updated as the season goes (maybe even with pics).

Fair Enough

So, this week was the local fair, and we decided to take the girls and go. They LOVED it (well, Cerise did, Morgan didn't care).

It's Official!!!

I am now OFFICIALLY a "crafty" Mormon Mom!!! No one ever thought it could happen, but it did. Look what I just made:
